The garment industry is one of the most heavily counterfeit industries in the world. The International Trade Centre estimates that the $461 billion sector of fake clothing and shoes makes up around 7% of all counterfeit items sold globally. The difficulties that clothing manufacturers encounter are varied, ranging from the effect on their brand to the monetary loss of sales.
