Companies nowadays do a lot of things to prevent counterfeiting. Holograms, Security Labels and all sorts of Anti-Counterfeit practices are used. Still, somehow, counterfeit goods end up in the hands of the consumer and the consumer has to suffer. However, it is often due to the lack of attention from customers’ point of view too. If you cannot resist an insane deal, they always know that there could be a counterfeiting racket involved behind it that will take advantage of your ignorance.

When the product is cheap, you don’t pay attention because you are getting a good deal. More importantly, if you buy a particular brand from time to time, then chances are you will not notice much while buying that brand and if the seller is involved in any malpractice, then the person may slip a counterfeit without you noticing it. So, when you are buying, be careful. Also, try to check if the packaging looks unusually flimsy despite the same brand, then it may well be a fake product which you should refrain from buying.
